Alfred Wallace (1823-1913) was born in Usk, Monmouthshire (now part of Gwent), Wales. He travels around and collect plant samples as his basis of his finding. He was an influence to Darwin to present his findings to the public in 1858. Darwin hesitated whether or not he should publicize his finding, it took him 15 years to decide to publish his work. Their work was being presented in the historic meeting of the Linnaean Society in July 1858. Together with Darwin, Wallace work on organizing his notes to publish his work publicly. The work the Origin of Species is being prepared and published in 1859.
